Equipment/Respect

This year the Pyeongchang winter olympic games have begun many countries have come too compete in the winter Olympics each sport is played on ice & snow.

Many of the sports that are played use different equipment they also show respect to there team & country but the tournament is not easy,not every athlete wins the games.

Athletes also compete in different events like different kinds of sports it takes a lot too practice for these games.

Some teams have sports trials that they have too practice in each day & each week until the finals come.

Pyeongchang winter olympic games were held for 17 days,It started on the 9th of February & ended on the 25th of February.

Today we used the ‘2 words 1 minute’ challenge to write a description about the Winter Olympics. After talking in pairs about the things we knew about the winter Olympics we created a list of words (vocabulary) that would help us write our description. We chose the words ‘equipment’ and ‘respect’ to help us think about what we were going to write.

We talked about ideas with a partner, then we had 1 minute to put those ideas into sentences. We had to try our best to use all the words on our vocab list. After the minute was up we had 2 minutes to reread what we had written and make changes if anything didn’t make sense, or if we had words and punctuation in the wrong place. When we finished checking we had 2 more minutes to carry on writing our descriptions.

I need to remember to Today I made sure that I used powerful words to make my paragraphs interesting.

Professor Stephen Hawking DLO

Sadly Professor Stephen Hawking,passed away last week.We have created this DLO to show who was and why he was famous.In this task we focused on using our own words and attributing photo's.

Sky,Viva and me were working on Websites and finding our facts and information. 

Sentence Stretcher

Writing today was about stretching simple and complex sentences.I worked with my partner Viva we had to cooperate with each other and think of what to do.We wrote sentences about a fox then we had to describe the fox and write explanations of the 5 w's.

Then after we finished writing the simple and complex sentences we wrote our paragraph about the fox.Then we explained what the fox was doing when it was doing it and Where the fox was.

Making Connections

For reading Rotoroa, read a book about the Olympics we learnt many things and learnt the different types of sports that they play in the Olympics. Then we did an activity Making connections. We did the following text to text, text to world and text to self.

Agents of Change

Today I have been changing my ways to become a Agent of Change.
To make myself be an agent of change I wrote down some basic goals to which how I will become an agent of change for 2018.

I made a DLO to Explain how I will become an Agent and how I will change my ways.
I also took a picture of myself standing by the sign that saids Agent of Change.

Tech at Tamaki College

Today in tech year 7's have finished off there designs and are now moving on to the next step.

Our next step was to get our Silhouette checked by Ms Grundy.Then we had to get our Silhouette printed before starting to trace around our design onto a piece of wood.After tracing carefully we then outlined our designs before cutting them out.

We used lazier cutters for this job.
