Atheletics day 2019
This term Panmure bridge held Athletics day on the 22nd of Friday, There were a lot of activities to get active in and every classroom in the school wore color group clothing, Red, Blue, Yellow or green/Black. I competed in the athletics day with group red LS2. Before Athletics day began each color group picked a leader for there group. I was the team leader of the red team. Each activity that we competed in we all encouraged each other and motivated each other. It was amazing to see how everyone contributed to the sport and got involved in the activities.

William Shakespare- Romeo and Juliet
For the past 2 weeks we have been focusing on the story Romeo and Juliet which is a famous tale written by William Shakespeare, who is a famous poet that was born in stratford- upon- avan, England. This week me, Ellenora, Eyaka and Angelene created a animation to retell the story. Throughout the week we have been communicating with each other and sharing the ideas, which we then process into making our animation. We also created a script to go along with the animation. We each took turns on each of the script. After our animation was fully accomplished we presented it to the class.

Reading Presentations
For the past 2 weeks me and Chavda have been researching about the Great Plague that invaded London and England. This Topic was very interesting because it involved a lot of action + facts. 1 fact I found interesting was that 100,000 people died during 1665-1666 caused by the sickness of the plague. Once researched, we created a DLO about the great plague and how it all started. We created a Timeline and a summary to explain the story behind this allful tragedy. We also designed our own picture to describe the scene of what happened back in the day. Once we completed our DLO we presented it in front of the class. We shared a lot of information and gave a clear description about our topic. I liked working on this topic because it was all about history.

(Transformation) - Mathematics
This Week for Maths we are learning to understand the meaning of Transformation and how it is done. (Transformation- Is to Change or Rearrange something or someone). To show our learning we got creative and designed our DLO using the shape tool. I decided to make a plant using a circle, Cylinder and Round Diagonal corner rectangle. Our challenge was to create and show the 4 different types of transformation- Reflection, Rotation, Enlargement, Translation. For the Reflection part of the challenge I duplicated the design and turned it to make it face the opposite way. (Reflection- Mirror image). The Next part of the challenge was to duplicate the design again but ax 4th's. Then I rotated the design from 90 degrees, 180 degrees, 27.0 degrees, 0 degrees. (Rotation- To turn). The next step was to enlarge the design from smallest- Biggest. The Last step was to Translate the design, (Translate- Moving, Sliding).

Spring into maths,with Mrs Linda
In Today´s session of spring into maths, We completed several challenges that included the maths challenge wall. Our first challenge was to complete the first numbers of the day which was to roll the dice to find our number of the day. The numbers that we rolled were 654 and 653. After answering questions as a group, we then completed our own challenge sheet. We finished our lesson with making money and found various ways to make different amounts for example: $15 or 1.70.

Food Print: Talking with Micheal
Yesterday LS2 and LS1 got a visit from Micheal a business owner who has been working in her own official office where her and her team develop and research about food waste and how they could change food waste into products that don´t get thrown away every day. She is also a social worker who helps those in need + she has developed her own app called Food Print. Similar to the Uber Eats app but instead Food Print is made differently- The app does not require fast foods instead it provides cooked dishes and cafe delights, such as, Cakes, Ice Cream, Fudges and much more. I was so intrigued by fact that 1/3 of the food that is produced like (Bread) are wasted every year. A fact that Micheal mentioned during her speech was that 1.3 billion tonnes of wasted food ends up in the landfill = Decay, Produced which turns into methane gas. Methane gas changes the weather this causes climate change. During her time working as a small business owner Micheal is trying her best to help reduce the number of waste. Did you that 20 million loaves of bread is wasted every year in New Zealand. She also talked about Food Print being an enterprise, (Open Market).
It was a great oppitunity to hear her story and she learnt the enterprise and economics.
Big thanks to Micheal from Food Print for coming to share your story with LS2 and LS1.
