PBS Whakatauki

Our School's Whakatauki is based on Manaaki Whenua,Manaaki Tangata and Haere Whakamua. Meaning care for the land Care for the people and Go forward.
These school values mean Confidence,Attitude and Respect and Excellence and innovation.

They bring us together and they also show us about how to care for each other.
I made this DLO on our PBS Whakatauki which was about 4 values about Panmure Bridge School.

Caring for the land is  about

Picking up the rubbish an not letting our earth become polluted.

Caring for the people is 

Helping your elder family member's and caring for your friends,Teachers and whanau.

Go Forward

means to never give up and to try your best even if you don't get your work done or you come last in a race.

Place Value

In Maths, We learnt place value and subtraction first of all we used our maths books then we looked on the class sight to find the questions once we wrote them down we answered the questions using Place Value.

I made up my own question for place value then I used my thinking skills to answer the questions.

Title - How snow is made
Snow is constructed from air. Snow was made for people to play Winter sports. Snow can get 50 times bigger

The Main point about snow

Snow is Contributed from Ice then is broken up into little pieces.

What else can snow be made into

Snow can be made into Snowflakes Ice berks blizzards and cold weathers.

About Ice  

Ice is made from soft liquid which turns into a hard formula.

In Alaska US Ice has hit because Alaska is so cold many trees and mountains are topped with snow.

In Reading My group made a document about How snow is made.
Snow is made from air and ice usually it is made from solid liquids.Ice can be made up into anything like Blizzards,Avalanches,Snowflakes which are made from ice.

Snowy cold weathers are in winter.Alaska is the coldest town in America.
Snow is effected from making bury weathers and freezing cold snow.

This is what I learnt about snow in reading.

Kiwi Can

Today in Kiwi Can Ms Matt,Ms Latu,Miss Lilly
were our teachers in Kiwi Can,They had to teach us the rules of every game we play.

Our theme for this year is fairness and fair play,Today's Energizer was with Ms Latu. Our game was All around the world.This game was our first session for the morning our next game in the middle block of Kiwi Can was to run around in a circle but first of all we had to be numbered off from 1 to 4.

Once Miss Lilly says 1 or 20 or 3 or 4 we had to run around the circle the first 1 to get into a loophole is safe the ones who are last are out.

Thanks Ms Matt,Ms Latu,Miss Lilly for teaching us.

Today for reading we did reciprocal reading.
in group Rotoroa we read a book called Constructing big air we had to share books and we got a chance to be the leader who lead the group through there reading knowledge.
Constructing air was a about people snow boarding and trying out new things.

The leader had to answer questions for us so that we understand the category of the text that we were reading.The leader had to develop the info from the text to us.

Work Book about pewter

Tech at Tamaki College 

In Tech at,Tamaki College we learnt how to do Art,Pewter,Technology.
Yr 7 went to do Pewter while the Yr 8's went to art and Technology,Year 7 which was my group we were in Pewter with our assignment teacher Ms Grundy.

We learnt the different types of Material that are used to make Solid and soft Objects.
Ms Grundy Explained the different types of Objects that use Pewter.
Pewter is a hard Material that when you hold it,it becomes heavier usually it is the size of a giant chocolate bar. 

We were also shown pieces that were made from Pewter,They were shaped in Animals symbols,Letters.

Image result for silhouette musicWe had to make a copy of a google doc that was placed as charms that were for 4 people in your family.
Then we had to write down the names of the people that we were making the charms for.

After that we typed up silhouette..... We had to put in the picture that was not to small and not to skinny.

We saw the tools that we were going to use for making something out of pewter.
All these tools were located to Damaging your skin so we had to be extra careful for next week when we come back to pewter class.

To use Conjunctions to write a compound sentence

In Writing Mrs Anderson writing group had to write about Compound sentences/Simple Sentences/Complex sentences.
We used pictures for explaining what our sentences mean.

The information we put in was on the board,We first planned it out then we started writing our Ideas on whiteboards.
We wrote down sentences about what was on the TV.

We started off with the Lion 

We described about what the lion is doing,How it looks and types of other info.

Place Value

Place Value 
This Place Value DLO shows a word solving and questions to solve.
I solved these questions by using 1's ,10's, 100's I  solved out the numbers first before putting them into order.
I add all the equal numbers together and the answer is solved 

Then I put in the Explanation.



5 + 3 = 8
60 + 20=80 
400+100 = 500 


Kiwi Can

LI: To Engage what we have learnt in Kiwi Can

Today In Kiwi Can,Group A was introduced by There New Kiwi Can Teacher Mr Matt.
Mr Lily came in to play games with us.First of all we started off with a energizer.Our Energizer was /Change Places/.

In This game 1 person had to be in the middle,and that person who is in the middle has to call out Change spaces if you brushed your teeth this morning or other options.We all had a go at being in the middle.

After that game we talked about Encouraging then we went outside for a game.
This game was a bit like Netball tag but instead you have to challenge group 1,2,3 you could have been in one of those groups.

Also we thought about Encouraging our teammates who were playing.We had a lot of fun.

About Pyeongchang

Today for Inquiry I made a DLO with Chavda that was about Pyeongchang and the Winter Olympics. I have learnt that Passion. Connected. is the slogan for the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics. The countries that are near South Korea are: China, Thailand and Japan, and I know that Seoul is the capital of South Korea. We also learnt the distance from New Zealand (Auckland) and South Korea. My favorite fact that we found did was that Korean people eat a lot of kimchi each year. Did you know that kimchi is made from fermented cabbage? I don't know if I would like to eat that.

Today's text was about, Hard Ice and Soft Ice, I read a article that had the same title about ice and snowflakes and how they form into larger sizes. The text had subheadings to which I have read about snow forming and how it can cause damage.
After I finished reading my group and I had to fill in the chart above.

LI: To carry out a statistical Inquiry

In Maths LS2 had to create a spreadsheet showing all the years they have been blogging/and also when they begun blogging.
We used a spreadsheet to record all the information on,We also had to look on our blogger to find out how much in total of every year we have been blogging in.

The amount had to be written then had to be inserted on a chart.We also had to make a google draw.Then we had to copy and paste our chart on then insert text boxes for us to write down the Statistics down.
